The document thus becomes a technical development plan. The plan may have different names, for example Master Plan, Long-term Development Plan (LDP) or Business Continues Plan (BCP). Here, we refer to the document as a Master Plan.   <\/p>\n\n<p>A Masterplan can be used to create a basis for developing the facility with the goal of reducing production costs, to map investment needs, identify technical business risks, or gain an understanding of the efficiency potential at the production facility. The document serves as a decision-making basis for overarching structural decisions that affect the total production capacity of an operation. <\/p>\n\n<p>The plan can also be advantageously used as an overall approach to energy efficiency and can also serve as an effective tool in the work of identifying fire and explosion risks, for example in connection with<br\/>future expansion of the facility.<\/p>\n\n<p>Areas of application for a Master Plan:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To define planning assumptions, i.e., the planning and design parameters required for a change\/expansion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop a plan that illustrates the long-term physical layout of the facility\u2019s main functions, such as production processes, internal logistics, warehousing, energy supply, maintenance, administration, and more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To describe the main configuration for all systems, such as production, packaging, automation, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To illustrate how the expansion of the current facility can be carried out in phases, including possible process modifications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop a budget showing the capital expenditure (CAPEX) associated with each phase, as well as how operating expenditure (OPEX) will be affected by the phase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The Master Plan is normally not based on a calendar year, but on production capacity per year, per month, and per week.<\/p>\n\n<p>If you want to know more about how we at Qestio can help you analyze the potential savings in your production facility and support you in implementing the necessary changes \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/qestio.se\/kontakt\/\">contact us<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When operating a production facility, it is advisable to establish a document that, in a structured manner, describes how the facility can be developed\u2014most often from a production engineering perspective.
