Training: ESA-E2 Non-electrical work
The training provides access to, for example, network substations, switchgear and control rooms, and is intended for those who are not electrically qualified and will only carry out non-electrical work on, or in connection with, a high-voltage electrical installation. The training is based on the publication “ESA Instructed Person – Non-electrical work 21” and the requirements described in the electricity network industry guidelines, EBR’s requirements document.

EBR-ESA-E2 Non-electrical work was previously called EBR-ESA Instructed. The training is based on the publication “ESA Instructed Person – Non-electrical work 21”. It is also based on and complies with the requirements described in the electricity network industry guidelines, EBR’s requirements document.
The training must comprise at least 4 hours. Wattityd recommends extending the training hours for practical exercises if needed. The training may have a maximum of 16 participants per session.

- understand the distribution of responsibilities according to occupational health and safety and electrical safety legislation
- understand and be able to apply “ESA Functions”
- understand risk management and relate to the risks
- understand safety distances for non-electrical work
- understand what non-electrical work is
- understand what applies to the EBR form “ESA Access Agreement”
- understand the working methods “General info”, “Work near live parts” and “Work without voltage” and their limitations.
Certificate for the training
The certificate issued to participants after a passed final exam is called “EBR-ESA-E2 Non-electrical work”. It is valid for three years, which means a refresher requirement every three years.
