Training information ESA-E1
EBR-ESA-E1 Electrical Work was formerly known as EBR-ESA Skilled Basic. The training is intended for those who will lead, perform, or plan electrical work on or in connection with high-voltage electrical installations.
The training is based on the publications ESA Basic 19.1 and ESA Work 19.1. It also builds upon and complies with the requirements described in standard SS-EN 50110-1 and the Swedish Power Grid Industry Guidelines, EBR’s requirements document.
The training comprises an effective instructional time of approximately 12 hours. Approximately 4 hours are conducted as practical exercises to foster a better understanding among participants. The training is limited to a maximum of 16 participants.
For whom?
The training is intended for those who will lead, perform, or plan electrical work on or in connection with high-voltage electrical installations.
Prerequisites
Participants who will perform electrical work on or in connection with electrical power installations must have sufficient knowledge of electricity to be able to benefit from the training. Other participants should be familiar with the work tasks at a general level.
Objectives
After the training, participants should be able to apply the theoretical content of the publications “ESA Grund 19.1” and “ESA Arbete 19.1” in their daily practical work, thereby avoiding risks associated with working with electrical current. Participants must also have completed the training with a passing final exam.
After completing the training, participants should, among other things
- understand the distribution of responsibilities according to occupational health and safety and electrical safety legislation
- understand and be able to apply ESA functions
- understand and be able to apply risk management
- understand and be able to apply safe communication
- understand what a maintenance measure is and when it transitions to planned work according to one of the work methods
- understand the work methods “Work near voltage,” “Work without voltage,” and “Work with voltage” and their limitations
- understand what non-electrical work is
- understand what applies to the EBR form “ESA Agreement on Access.”
Certificate for the training
The certificate issued to participants after passing the final exam is called “EBR-ESA-E1 Electrical Work.” It is valid for three years, which means a recertification requirement every three years.
