Development Plan Masterplan
We help you develop your facility. In a structured manner, we establish a technical development plan. The plan can have various names, such as Master Plan, Long-term Development Plan (LDP), or Business Continuity Plan (BCP). Here, we refer to the document as a Master Plan.
A Masterplan can be used to create a basis for developing the facility with the goal of reducing production costs, to map investment needs, identify technical business risks, or gain an understanding of the efficiency potential at the production facility. The document serves as a decision-making basis for overarching structural decisions that affect the total production capacity of an operation.
The plan can also be advantageously used as a holistic approach to energy efficiency and serve as an effective tool for identifying fire and explosion risks, for example, during future facility expansions. Viewing the energy flow of the entire site as a whole provides opportunities for development and takes the work to the next level, often resulting in savings of 20–30%.
The development of a Master Plan occurs through a work process that begins by defining planning assumptions. Planning and design parameters are established as the foundation for the plan. The process defines the capacity and production technology needs that exist or may arise in the future. The next step involves mapping the current technical status, followed by a cost analysis of current production.
Based on the analysis of the current situation and future expected needs, a comprehensive plan for the facility’s development is established, including systems and building facilities. The plan is also illustrated to provide the best possible overview.
It is common for a Master Plan to include an analysis of the ‘do-nothing’ alternative. This alternative describes what happens if no development takes place. This part of the plan describes the need for reinvestments.
Throughout the process, a close dialogue is maintained between Qestio and the client to ensure that all conditions and needs are considered. The work is compiled into a report describing the various phases of the development plan, with a comprehensive description of changes, investment requirements (CAPEX), operational expenditure impact (OPEX), and consequences, as well as the different phases of the Master Plan with a description of the phase breakdown.
